I’ve noticed that everyone changes as they grow into who they are. It’s hard when that change doesn’t appear authentic to those around us, but that is not a valid reason to continue hiding. They don’t get to dictate growth. Sometimes, in my own pursuit of authentic, I overcorrected. Those moments were hard on my family and I got called out… but even the overcorrection was necessary to finally selling in to my authentic self.
Whether they believe it or not, you are going through a very natural process from hiding to seen. Stretching your “this is who I am” legs may well feel like learning to walk. You’ll be ok. Don’t give up. You are truly not alone in your journey.
